My Pocket Plus Terms & Conditions

Operator: Dollar King Ltd (Trading as Two Dollar Things Plus)
Effective Date: October 2026 | Jurisdiction: New Zealand

  1. Introduction & Binding Agreement
    1. Contractual Agreement: By applying for, joining, accessing, or using the TWO DOLLAR THINGS PLUS Loyalty Programme (“My Pocket Plus”, hereinafter referred to as “the Programme”), you explicitly acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions. The Programme is owned, operated, and maintained by Dollar King Ltd (“we”, “our”, “us”).
    2. Legal Binding: These Terms and Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between Dollar King Ltd and each registered member.
    3. Definition of Full Price: “Full Price” means the standard shelf price and everyday Member Price offered in-store, which are eligible for point accumulation. Full Price explicitly excludes clearance items, Special Prices, multi-buy or bundle deals (refer to Section 9.1 for examples), and promotional markdown items designated by Dollar King Ltd, all of which are excluded from point earning.
    4. Offline Channel Limit & Future Online Expansion Currently, Programme benefits—including point accumulation, point redemption, Reward Voucher usage, and Member Prices—are available exclusively at physical participating retail stores. Programme integration for online shopping platforms or e-commerce services is not currently active. Dollar King Ltd reserves the right to expand the Programme to online channels in the future, and members will be notified prior to any such implementation via our website, mobile application, or other reasonable communication methods.
  2. Right to Amend & Notice of Material Changes
    1. Right to Amend: Dollar King Ltd reserves the right to modify, suspend, substitute, restrict, or terminate the Programme, its benefits, rewards structure, point earn rates, redemption rules, Member Price benefits, or any part of these Terms and Conditions on reasonable grounds, including operational necessity, system updates, commercial viability, or legal compliance.
    2. Notice Period: Except in cases involving suspected fraud, security threats, legal compliance, technical failures, or force majeure events beyond our reasonable control, we will provide at least thirty (30) days’ prior notice of any material changes via in-store signage, our official website, mobile application notifications, email, or other reasonable communication methods. Continued participation in the Programme following the notice period constitutes binding acceptance of the updated terms.
  3. Programme Termination Rules
    1. Termination & Voucher Redemption: If the Programme is terminated by Dollar King Ltd, any valid, unexpired vouchers legitimately issued before the official termination date may continue to be redeemed in accordance with these Terms until their stated expiry date, unless cancelled due to fraud, abuse, administrative error, system glitch, or legal necessity.
    2. Unredeemed Points: Upon Programme termination, all unredeemed accumulated points shall be rendered null and void immediately without cash equivalent, financial credit, or monetary compensation.
  4. Membership Eligibility & Account Limits
    1. Eligibility: Membership is open to natural persons aged 13 years or older. Individuals under the age of 13 may only register for a membership account provided they have obtained explicit consent from a parent or legal guardian. By checking the designated consent box during the registration process, an applicant under the age of 13 confirms that such parental or guardian consent has been obtained. Dollar King Ltd shall deem all registrations made by individuals under the age of 13 as having been completed with full parental or legal guardian consent.
    2. Account Limitation: Dollar King Ltd limits each natural person to one (1) active membership account. We reserve the right to audit, consolidate, suspend, or terminate duplicate, fake, or automated accounts upon reasonable verification without prior compensation.
    3. Non-Transferability: Membership accounts, accumulated points, issued vouchers, promotional rewards, and Member Price entitlements are strictly personal to the registered individual. Under no circumstances may they be transferred, assigned, sold, bartered, auctioned, shared, inherited, or consolidated with any other account.
    4. Lost Account Recovery Protocol: Members who lose access to their membership account (e.g., due to lost devices, changed phone numbers, or unlinked social logins) may submit an account recovery request via rewards@twodollarthings.co.nz. To protect account security and prevent unauthorized takeover, Dollar King Ltd reserves the right to require valid identification and historical transaction verification prior to restoring access or consolidating accounts. If identity cannot be reasonably verified, Dollar King Ltd reserves the right to decline account recovery, and shall bear no liability for unverified account forfeitures.
  5. Third-Party Social Login Compliance (Google & Facebook)
    1. Members may register and authenticate using Google Sign-In or Facebook Login. We strictly adhere to Meta (Facebook) Platform Terms, Meta Developer Policies, Google Developer Policies, and applicable privacy regulations.
    2. Third-party authentication is executed directly through secure API integrations managed by Google or Meta. Dollar King Ltd does not collect, access, or store user account password credentials.
  6. Account Deletion Right & Data Erasure Callback
    1. In strict compliance with Google Play Developer Policies, Meta User Data Deletion requirements, and the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, members possess the right to request account deletion and complete data erasure at any time via in-app account settings, dedicated online deletion callback mechanisms, or customer support.
    2. Account deletion triggers the immediate and permanent forfeiture of all accrued points, active vouchers, account history, and Member Price eligibility without right of restoration or monetary compensation.
  7. Identity Verification Protocol
    1. To protect account holders and prevent unauthorized exploitation, store staff reserve the right to require member verification via any one of the following: scanning the membership barcode, phone number, full name, email address, or member ID, alongside valid Proof of Identity (e.g., New Zealand Driver’s Licence, Passport, Student ID) prior to earning or redeeming points, applying vouchers, altering account details, or extending Member Prices. Members may select and present any single verification method listed above to complete identity confirmation and account lookup.
    2. Refusal to provide reasonable requested Proof of Identity may result in the refusal of point redemption, voucher usage, or Member Price applications for that specific transaction.
  8. Point Accumulation & Retrospective Claim Policy
    1. Members earn points on eligible merchandise sold at Full Price (as defined in Section 1.3) at a rate of 1 point per NZD $1.00 spent (a net value rate of 2%; e.g., spending NZD $0.35 earns 0.35 points, NZD $2.50 earns 2.5 points). Every time an accumulated balance reaches 100 points, a NZD $2.00 Reward Voucher is automatically generated and added to the member’s mobile application account, and the accumulated balance will reset to 0 points (or deduct 100 points).
    2. Retrospective Points Policy: Members must present any one of the following to complete identity verification and account lookup at the exact time of purchase to accumulate points: scanning the membership barcode, phone number, full name, email address, or member ID. If a scan or lookup is missed due to verified technical outages or staff administrative errors, members may request retrospective point allocations within fifteen (15) days of purchase by submitting proof of purchase. Retrospective point requests cannot be processed or resolved in-store under any circumstances and must be submitted via email directly to rewards@twodollarthings.co.nz for review.
    3. System Records: Points accumulation is governed by Dollar King Ltd’s digital database logs. In the event of an unresolvable discrepancy, store system records serve as the primary reference for point verification.
  9. Point Earning Exclusions
    1. Points shall NOT be earned or accumulated on the following items. Please note that point exclusion criteria are strictly defined and specified solely within these Terms and Conditions, and will not be separately declared or displayed elsewhere (including in-store signage, product labels, or receipt details):
      • Clearance items, temporary promotional markdowns, Special Prices (limited-time promotional member offers), and quantity-based promotional offers (Multi-buy Offers, e.g., Buy 2 Get 1 Free, 3 for $12, 4 for $5, 2 for $15, 3 for $10). (Note: Items purchased at standard Full Price or standard everyday Member Price earn points normally);
      • Items purchased using a Staff Discount;
      • Gift Card or voucher purchases;
      • Delivery fees, freight charges, service fees, or administration charges;
      • Charitable donations or non-retail payments;
      • Any specific merchandise or category explicitly designated as excluded by Dollar King Ltd from time to time.
  10. Member Prices & Retail Usage Limits
    1. Active My Pocket Plus members who verify their account at checkout by presenting any one of the following: a scanned barcode, phone number, full name, email address, or member ID may purchase designated items at discounted “Member Prices”. Non-members or members who fail to authenticate their membership via any of these methods prior to transaction completion shall pay standard retail prices without right of retroactive price adjustment.
    2. Member Prices are subject to stock availability, physical participating store validation, and immediate revision or withdrawal where commercially necessary.
    3. Member Prices are strictly intended for ordinary household retail consumption. Dollar King Ltd reserves the right to impose quantity limits or decline Member Price benefits on purchases deemed excessive, wholesale, commercial, or speculative.
  11. Reward Voucher Issuance & Usage Rules
    1. Automatic Issuance & In-App Access: Upon reaching 100 points, a NZD $2.00 Reward Voucher will automatically issue to the member’s account and appear in the mobile application.
    2. Next Transaction Rule: Vouchers become active starting from the NEXT subsequent transaction and CANNOT be redeemed within the transaction in which they were earned.
    3. Multi-Voucher Redemption Allowed: Members are permitted to redeem multiple active Reward Vouchers simultaneously in a single qualifying transaction.
    4. Minimum Spend & Excess Balance Forfeiture: The qualifying purchase amount prior to voucher application must be at least NZD $2.00. Where the total value of applied vouchers exceeds the final transaction amount, any unabsorbed excess voucher value is permanently forfeited and will not be refunded, credited, or converted (e.g., applying $10.00 in vouchers to a $9.00 transaction fully covers the total, and the remaining $1.00 excess value is forfeited).
  12. Points & Voucher Expiry Rules
    1. No Expiry on Accumulated Points: Points accumulated in a member’s account do not expire and remain valid indefinitely, provided the account remains active. This applies equally to any remaining point balance (1–99 points) after a Reward Voucher has been generated. (Note: Points are strictly forfeited upon voluntary account deletion or account termination due to material breach under Sections 6 and 14).
    2. Voucher Expiry (1 Year): Reward Vouchers automatically issued upon reaching 100 points are valid for exactly one (1) year (12 months) from the date of issue. Expired vouchers are automatically invalidated by the system and cannot be reinstated, extended, or converted.
    3. No Cash Value: Points, Reward Vouchers, Member Prices, and account benefits possess zero cash value, are non-transferable, and cannot be redeemed or exchanged for cash, legal tender, gift cards, or store credit.
  13. Refunds, Returns & Point Adjustments
    1. Point Reversals: Points earned on items that are subsequently returned or refunded will be deducted from the member’s account balance.
    2. Negative Point Balances: Where a refund results in a negative point balance, subsequent points earned will automatically offset the negative balance. Intentional exploitation or abuse of refunds may result in account review.
    3. Change of Mind Voucher Treatment: Where an item purchased with a Reward Voucher is returned due to change of mind (where permitted), voucher values will not be refunded as cash.
    4. Statutory Consumer Guarantees: Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes consumer rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or Fair Trading Act 1986. Faulty goods will be fully refunded or replaced in accordance with New Zealand law.
  14. Anti-Fraud, Abuse & Account Termination
    1. Dollar King Ltd reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership accounts upon reasonable suspicion or evidence of:
      • Provision of false, misleading, or fraudulent registration information;
      • Unauthorized manipulation, exploitation, or gaming of points, codes, or transactions;
      • Creation of multiple accounts to unlawfully accumulate vouchers or promotional perks;
      • Unauthorized use of another individual’s account, identity, barcode, or personal details (such as phone number, full name, email address, or member ID);
      • Abusive, aggressive, or dishonest behavior towards staff or within retail premises.
    2. Account termination resulting from verified fraud, misuse, or material breach of these Terms shall result in the forfeiture of accumulated points, vouchers, and member privileges.
  15. System Errors, Technical Downtime & Pricing Corrections
    1. System Corrections: Dollar King Ltd reserves the right to correct software, administrative, pricing, point calculation, barcode, or member lookup method (phone number, full name, email address, member ID, etc.) errors. In the event of a material system error, affected members will be notified of the adjustment.
    2. Inadvertent System Glitches: Where points, vouchers, Member Prices, or promotional benefits are incorrectly allocated due to technical outages or system glitches, Dollar King Ltd reserves the right to adjust or correct the records to reflect accurate values upon notifying the member.
  16. Limitation of Liability
    1. Exclusion of Indirect Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law (including the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair-Trading Act 1986), Dollar King Ltd, its directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising out of or in connection with Programme participation or app downtime.
    2. Statutory Compliance: Nothing in this section limits liability arising from gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or statutory obligations under New Zealand law that cannot be lawfully excluded.
  17. General Provisions & Informal Dispute Resolution
    1. Staff Statements: Informal oral statements made by retail staff do not modify or override these written Terms and Conditions unless confirmed in writing by Dollar King Ltd management.
    2. Non-Waiver: Failure by Dollar King Ltd to enforce any provision on a specific occasion does not constitute a waiver of that provision or restrict the right to enforce it in the future.
    3. Governing Law & Informal Dispute Protocol: Members are encouraged to contact the Company first so that we have a reasonable opportunity to resolve any dispute informally. Nothing in these Terms prevents a Member from exercising any legal or statutory right available to them.
