Membership & Account
How do I join My Pocket Plus, and can I create multiple accounts?
You can easily join by downloading our mobile app and registering via manual signup or using Google Sign-In / Facebook Login. Membership is open to natural persons aged 13 years or older. Individuals under the age of 13 may register only with explicit parent or legal guardian consent. Membership is strictly limited to one (1) active account per natural person. Duplicate, automated, or fake accounts will be audited, consolidated, or terminated without prior compensation.
How can I delete my account, and what happens to my points?
You can request immediate account deletion directly in the app via Settings > Account Deletion, or by emailing rewards@twodollarthings.co.nz. Important: Deletion triggers immediate and permanent forfeiture of all accumulated points, active vouchers, purchase history, and Member Price eligibility without right of restoration.
I lost access to my account (new phone / lost social login). How do I recover it?
Submit an account recovery request to rewards@twodollarthings.co.nz. To prevent unauthorized takeovers, valid government-issued photo ID and historical transaction verification are required before access is restored or accounts are merged.
Can I transfer my points, vouchers, or account to a family member or friend?
No. Accounts, accumulated points, issued vouchers, and Member Price privileges are strictly personal and non-transferable. They cannot be shared, sold, bartered, inherited, or consolidated across multiple accounts.
Points & Exclusions
How do I earn points, and what is the earn rate?
Members earn points at a rate of 1 point per NZD $1.00 spent on eligible Full Price merchandise (net value rate of 2%; e.g., spending $0.35 earns 0.35 points, $2.50 earns 2.5 points). Every time your balance reaches 100 points, a NZD $2.00 Reward Voucher is automatically generated in your app. You must scan your active membership barcode at checkout.
Which items or transactions ARE NOT eligible for point accumulation?
Points will NOT be earned on:
- Clearance items, temporary promotional markdowns, and Special Prices (limited-time promotional member offers).
- Multi-buy or quantity deals (e.g., Buy 2 Get 1 Free, 3 for $12, 4 for $5, 2 for $15, 3 for $10).
- Items purchased using Staff Discount.
- Gift Card or voucher purchases.
- Delivery fees, freight charges, service fees, administration charges, or charitable donations.
(Note: Standard everyday Member Price items DO earn points normally.)
I forgot to scan my barcode at checkout. Can I claim missing points retroactively?
Yes, if the missed scan was due to a verified technical outage or staff error. You must submit your proof of purchase (receipt) via email to rewards@twodollarthings.co.nz within fifteen (15) days of the transaction date. Retrospective points cannot be processed or resolved in-store under any circumstances.
Vouchers & Store Rules
How do Reward Vouchers work, and when can I use them?
Upon reaching 100 points, a NZD $2.00 Reward Voucher is automatically generated in your app.
- Next Transaction Rule: Vouchers can only be redeemed starting from your NEXT subsequent purchase.
- Minimum Spend: A minimum qualifying spend of $2.00 is required prior to applying vouchers.
- Excess Balance Forfeiture: If your voucher value exceeds the transaction total, remaining balance is non-refundable (e.g., applying a $10 voucher to a $9 purchase forfeits the remaining $1).
- Stacking: Multiple active vouchers CAN be redeemed together in a single transaction!
Do points and vouchers expire?
- Points: Do NOT expire as long as your account remains active. Remaining balances (1–99 points) carry over indefinitely.
- Reward Vouchers: Valid for exactly one (1) year (12 months) from the date of issuance. Expired vouchers cannot be reinstated or extended.
Why did store staff ask to see my Photo ID at the checkout?
Under Section 7 of our Terms, store staff reserve the right to request valid government-issued photo ID (e.g., NZ Driver’s License, Passport, Student ID) to verify account ownership, prevent fraud, or before applying vouchers/Member Prices. Refusal may result in voucher or discount denial for that transaction.
Can I use my My Pocket Plus benefits online?
Currently, all program benefits (points, vouchers, Member Prices) are available exclusively at physical participating retail stores. Online expansion is planned for the future, and members will be notified prior to launch.
Returns & Privacy
What happens to points and vouchers if I return an item?
Points earned on returned items will be deducted from your balance (which may result in a negative balance). If you return an item bought with a voucher due to ‘change of mind’, voucher values will not be refunded as cash. Faulty items are fully covered under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
Is my personal data sold, and how is social sign-in data handled?
Dollar King Ltd NEVER sells, rents, or trades customer data to third parties. Social login via Google or Facebook accesses only authorized public profile info (name, email, User ID) — we never access or store your social account passwords.
